SURROGACY PROCESS
The surrogacy process takes an average of 18-24 months, but can vary depending on your personal circumstances.
Below is a brief overview of surrogacy through our agency.
APPLICATION
You will start the process with this preliminary application. You will provide a number of supporting documents and have an intake call with a member of our staff. Your screening with our agency will include background checks on all adults in your household, a home study, medical records reviews, and a psychological evaluation.
MATCHING
When you have been accepted into our program, we will help you create a profile. When you are ready to match, we will present you with the profile of intended parent(s) who share your goals for a successful journey. If after reviewing a profile you are interested in learning more, we will set up a video match call between all parties. This will include you (and your partner, if applicable), the intended parent(s), and a member of our staff.
SCREENING
After a match, you will continue with screening, following the guidelines of the fertility clinic being used. This may include additional psychological screening, which may be done locally or at the clinic. At minimum, your medical screening will include an ultrasound and blood work.
LEGAL
The work on the gestational carrier agreement (GCA) will begin after you have been medically cleared. You will be represented by a separate attorney from that of the intended parent(s) and will be able to review the contract before it is signed.
TRANSFER
The embryo transfer can be scheduled after the contract is signed by all parties. Each clinic has a unique medication protocol, but the time between the start of medications and transfer day is usually around 3-5 weeks. You will have several appointments during this time to check on your body’s readiness for transfer.
PREGNANCY
After your pregnancy is confirmed, you will have the opportunity to enjoy each milestone and grow your relationship with the intended parents. While awaiting the arrival of the baby(ies), we will continue to support you. We will also work with attorneys to get the proper paperwork completed before the birth.
POSTPARTUM
After delivery, the postpartum period is a time for rest and recovery—and we remain by your side throughout it. We’ll continue supporting you by helping coordinate postpartum medical care, staying on top of insurance matters, and monitoring escrow. Our team is here to answer questions and provide guidance until all obligations in your Gestational Carrier Agreement are fulfilled and escrow is fully closed.
