Does my insurance need to cover surrogacy?

Not exactly! At Heartland Surrogacy, we require a health insurance policy that will cover the surrogacy pregnancy. However, you can still serve as a surrogate if your current insurance will not cover it.

When you apply with us, we will have your policy professionally reviewed. If it has a surrogacy exclusion, meaning it won’t cover a surrogacy pregnancy, we will help you obtain a new policy. Affordable Care Act health insurance is an option during the open enrollment window. During other times of the year, we will work to match you with intended parents that can purchase a private policy for the pregnancy.
