Earlier this year, an updated Uniform Parentage Act was signed into law in the state of Washington. One of the major changes, and one that interests us here at Heartland Surrogacy, is that compensated surrogacy is now legal in Washington. The law provides criteria for enforceable surrogacy contracts, which aim to provide protection for surrogates and intended parents alike.
Heartland Surrogacy will now be accepting applications for surrogates residing in Washington, in addition to the other West Coast states (California and Oregon) as well as several states in the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota and Wisconsin.)
